Good morning, here are five things to know today:
1. Energy Company Looking into Complaints of Door-to-Door Reps: An energy company is internally investigating complaints of unlicensed door-to-door salespeople after city officals received numerous complaints, according to a company spokesperson. Many Medford residents have recently received a visit from representatives of Just Energy, a natural gas and electricity company, even though the city has not issued any peddlers licenses to the company, City Councilor Robert Penta said during Tuesday's city council meeting.
2. 'Father of Microcredit' to Speak at Tufts Friday, NBC's Brian Williams Next Week: Tufts University will host two significant speakers in coming days, first economist Muhammad Yunus on Friday, then NBC News Anchor Brian Williams on Monday. Both lectures are free and open to the public; tickets for the Yunus event can be reserved in advance by calling Heather Montana at 617-627-4230, while seating for the discussion with Brian Williams will be on a first come, first served basis, according to a Tufts University press release.
3. Weather: Clear skies and highs in the upper 60s are expected today, according to the National Weather Service. Highs in the low 70s are expected tomorrow.
4. Medford 'Sparkie' Recognized in Herald Feature: Avid police and fire scanner listener and Medford resident Michael Moura was featured in this Boston Herald piece yesterday.
5. Battle of the Bands: Local musicians have until tomorrow to enter Patch's regional battle of the bands competition, which includes some pretty sweet prizes.
